Qatar University (QU) announced the inauguration of its
new academic year during an annual convocation address on Sept. 28 by QU President
Dr. Hassan Al Derham.
Al Derham highlighted the college’s
strategic transformation and ongoing efforts to advance its position as a top
university in the world.
Attending the event were QU leadership, deans, heads of
departments, program directors, faculty members, students and alumni.
During his remarks, Al Derham thanked all in attendance and
wished students a successful upcoming year. He also talked about QU’s
strategic transformation including nine pillars.
“The first pillar focuses on advancing QU’s role as Qatar’s
premier national university that provides high-quality education,”
Al Derham said. “The second pillar aims to
strengthening the organization’s role as a social and strategic partner in national
development, while the third and fourth pillars focus on maximizing admission
opportunities within the university and on providing smooth opportunities for
students from various cultural backgrounds, as well as various professional and
academic interest.”
