The Qatar Transport Safety Forum was held this week under
the patronage of Jassim Al-Sulaiti, minister of transport and communications, and in attendance of Mohammad Al Rumehi, minister
of municipality and environment.
The event brought together transportation experts for a
discussion on the state of safety across the transport network of Qatar. Some safety
elements discussed were what Qatar is doing in regards to improving the quality
of its public network drivers and what the future looks like for intelligent
transport systems and autonomous vehicles.
“We would really like to thank the
Ministry of Transport and Communications for their constant support in the lead
up to this event and I would personally like to thank H.E. Mr. Jassim Saif
Ahmed Al-Sulaiti for his personal attention to this conference,” Mohaned El-Mahgoub, conference director at IQPC Middle East, said. “Safety
is something that needs to be driven from the top and with his vision and
direction, I only see huge improvements in Qatar.”
