Etihad Airways will offer daily flights from Abu Dhabi to Madrid beginning June 1 next year.
The additional flights support the airline’s commitment to offering more choices and more travel options.
From Madrid, travelers can connect to Etihad Airways’ codeshare partner Air Europa's flights to seven cities in Spain. Guests can also connect with Air Europa beyond Madrid to travel to South America and the Caribbean. Etihad Airways also offers connections with codeshare partner Avianca between Madrid and Bogota, Colombia.
“Our expanded Madrid operation is in line with Etihad Airways’ strategy to offer more choice, greater frequency and additional travel options when aircraft availability and market conditions permit," Kevin Knight, Etihad Aviation Group's chief strategy and planning officer, said. “The extra flights will cater to the strong demand between the two capital cities, and connect our diverse international network even more with the Spanish capital and destinations across Spain and beyond, through our partners.”
The additional services will provide 36 tons of freight capacity and boost visitor numbers for Spain’s tourism industry. The flights will also help drive growing trade and cultural ties between the UAE and Spain benefiting industries such as fashion, education, health care and construction, among others.
