Comodo's senior research specialist to present on ransomware at RSA Conference 2016 Abu Dhabi
Ransomware, a hack attack against institutions designed to deny service, usually attempts to extort money -- typically in Bitcoin form. Criminals using this technique often encrypt data and render systems useless, forcing a company to rely on old-school communication methods like fax machines. The threat is only growing as the number of attacks grows with the rise of internet-enabled devices.
Geers' presentation, “Ransomware in the Middle East,” will examine the origin of this type of hack attack. He will go over various methods used by the hackers as well as steps companies can take to grow their proactive and reactive defense solutions.
Geers is one of many experts attending the event, all of which will look to help organizations secure their companies and their future.
