ADNOC recently announced plans to expand its use of Enhanced
Oil Recovery (EOR) and Extended Reach Drilling (ERD) technologies to maximize
the value of its resources.
The company intends to speed up its hydrocarbon resource
development and enhance recovery from its smaller and more complex reserve base
structure through partner research projects and technological implementation.
ADNOC has used ERD since the beginning of the 1990s and has
specifically used it to cluster wells in its onshore and offshore fields since
2014. The company should increase its crude oil production by 400,000 bpd over
the next two years as part of its “2030 Strategy.”
“We are focusing on delivering more valuable and profitable
operations across exploration, drilling and production, while maintaining the
highest standards of HSE and protecting the integrity of our assets,” Abdulmunim Al Kindy, ADNOC’s exploration, development and production director, said. “We
have already laid the foundations to enable ADNOC to achieve maximum economic
and technically viable production levels in order to maximize our contribution
to Abu Dhabi and to ensure we stay competitive and deliver the greatest value
from our resources.”
