A recent meeting between Minister of Foreign Affairs Khalid Al Khalifa and the secretary of the executive committee at the Palestine Liberation Organization, Dr. Saeb Erekat, mirrored
the progressive relationship between the two countries.
The meeting was part of Erekat’s visit to the kingdom of
Bahrain.
The Minister reiterated his commitment to the people and
leader of Palestine and their right to institute their independence on the
borders of June 1967, with Al-Quds serving as the capital city.
In addition, the minister pledged the support of the kingdom
of Bahrain toward all actions that attain deserving and sustainable peace in
coordination with the international legitimacy and the Arab peace initiative.
It was noted that developing peace in Palestine will not only offer conform to
the people in that country, but will also offer stability to surrounding
regions.
During his address, Erekat showed great thanks on behalf
of the Palestinian people to Bahrain for its continued trust and support,
noting that the kingdom’s position to back Palestine speaks to the collaborative
and peaceful relationship between the two countries. Before leaving, the secretary wished Bahrain prosperity and success in future endeavors.
