Bahrain and the United Kingdom can count on continuing to benefit from their 200-year relationship for the foreseeable future, representatives of both nations said recently.
Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and Simon Martin met at Bahrain's
General Court of the Ministry to focus on strengthening the bilateral bonds between
the two countries. Khalifa is Bahrain's minister of foreign affairs and Martin is Britain's ambassador to Bahrain.
Khalifa said that besides the economic and political benefits, the relationship between the countries also allows them to work
together to solve issues that affect both countries. He also praised Martin for his diligent efforts to ensure a good working relationship moving forward.
Martin echoed Khalifa's views and committed the U.K. to serving a continued positive role in its
relationship with Bahrain.
