The Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) recently hosted a
meeting with Algeria Prime Minister Abdelmalek
Sellal in an event that brought together businesspeople from both countries.
Saudi Minister of Commerce and Investment Dr. Majid Al Qasabi was among those
in attendance.
Sellal encouraged cooperation between the Saudi and Algerian
businesspeople in attendance, saying that new development project
collaborations would benefit both countries. He hopes his visit will help grow
bilateral trade and investment in different sectors.
CSC Chairperson Dr. Hamdan Al Samreen, for his part, spoke
about the keenness of Saudi businesspeople to develop inter-country relationships.
He talked about the Saudi-Algerian Business Council’s
role in creating opportunities. He also touched on the two regions’
trade developments over the last decade.
Between 2006 and 2015, trade
developments grew from $95 million to $573 million.
Samreen stated that Saudi-Algerian cooperation is in line
with Saudi Vision 2030, which includes increasing Saudi exports and foreign
direct investments as one of its main goals.
