Carnegie Mellon University Qatar recently hosted its first
technology-focused career fair, which included participation from 25 employers
in the region.
The event, entitled “Careers Platform: The
Technology Edition,” provided a venue for potential
employers and students in computer science and information systems to meet and
network.
The employers involved included large corporations and smaller
startups. Students took the opportunity to learn about possible jobs and
internships and listened to professional expertise given by representatives
from the employers.
“Hiring for jobs and internships
in the high tech sector is a little different, and we wanted employers to have
a chance to focus on our students with expertise in computer science and
information systems,” Selma Mansar,
associate dean for education, said.
