Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) Secretary General Dr. Saud Al Meshari recently hosted Norihiro Okuda, the Japanese ambassador to Saudi Arabia.

The two leaders discussed ways to grow Saudi-Japanese trade and economic relations.

Al Meshari talked about the importance of a strategic partnership between Saudi Arabia and Japan. He believes the countries should increase delegation exchanges, representing the two regions’ keenness on enhancing bilateral relations.

Al Meshari also noted that the announcement of Saudi Vision 2030 has led to positive developments for Japanese investors. He spoke of unending opportunities in various business sectors, including energy, petrochemicals, water, technology, telecommunications, services, tourism, SMEs, mining and tourism.

Okuda, for his part, assured al Meshari that Japan was interested in enhancing trade and investment relations in the kingdom.

He spoke of Deputy Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s visit to Japan last year, saying that it had positive results. That visit led to the creation of the Joint Saudi-Japanese Group for Vision 2030, which has five task forces: trade and business opportunities, energy and manufacturing, investment and financing, SMEs, and culture and sports.
