The Saudi-British Joint Business Council (SBJBC) recently
organized a workshop on infrastructure for Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) in
large enterprises.
The workshop took place at the Council of Saudi Chambers
(CSC).
According to Chairperson of the Saudi side of SBJBC Nasser
Al Motawa, the workshop focused on best practices for the implementation of PPP
enterprises technically, financially and legally.
Al Motawa spoke about the caliber of participants in the
workshop: it included representatives of the National Program to Support
Project Management in Public Entities, the Ministry of Economy and Planning,
the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, Arriyadh Development Authority and the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority.
This was in addition to
leading British companies specializing in implementing large enterprises, as
well as members of the executive committee and SBJBC from both sides.
At the workshop, participants went over planning, financing,
implementing and managing infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia. They studied
successful PPP examples -- times where PPP was successfully implemented through
planning and infrastructure development.
