Oman Air will launch its first flight route
to China on Dec. 9, with the opening of a
nonstop flight from the national carrier's hub in Muscat to Guangzhou, China.
The new route speaks to Oman Air’s
dedication to aggressively expanding flight opportunities for customers, noted
in its network expansion program launched in 2014. The airline responded to the
significant customer demand to have flights from China, with the hope that the launch
will spark stronger political, economic and social ties between the two
countries.
“It is always exciting to open a new
destination, and Guangzhou is a perfect choice to Oman Air’s network,” Paul
Gregorowitsch, CEO at Oman Air, said. “Guangzhou, the 54th
destination on the WY network will be an added value meeting the demand of the
traders and businessmen of the two countries, as well as to tradesmen from
different neighboring countries. Passengers on the new route can now enjoy
their entire journey on our luxurious A330, configured with 196 economy class
seats and 30 business class seats. The operation will initially offer four
flights per week, and we are confident that this service will be a great
success. We look forward to a long and prosperous presence within the Chinese
market.”
In order to expand global connectivity, Oman
Air is transitioning through an ambitious growth project that will allow the
airline to grow significantly. In addition to the added flights, Oman Air is
also undergoing a significant fleet expansion program that calls for the
addition of Airbus A330, Boeing 737 and Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft to the
company’s line-up, working toward Oman Air’s goal of operating 70 aircrafts by
2020.
Flights from Muscat to Guangzhou are
scheduled for Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays via its wide-body A330.
Tickets for the new flights are available through Oman Air's website.
