Carnegie Mellon University
Qatar (CMU-Q) recently hosted an activity area featuring Alice Middle East at Darb
Al-Saai, in honor of Qatar National Day.
The university partnered with the Qatar
Foundation to feature four interactive stations showcasing elements of Alice
Middle East.
Alice Middle East is a 3-D
interactive educational animation software created to help students learn the
basics of how to program. The project is being implemented in computing
curriculum across schools in Qatar.
“Most of the children
that we meet have never heard of coding but by the time they finish interacting
with Alice, they are able to understand how technology works,” Huda
Gedawy, research associate in computer science and curriculum developer at Alice Middle East, said.
