Foreign
Minister of Qatar Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani recently held a
round of official talks with Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlut
Cavusoglu.
Chief Negotiator for the Syrian Opposition Riyad Hijab also was in
attendance.
The parties
involved discussed the latest developments in Syria, with the situation in East Aleppo becoming the main talking point. They also spoke of the outcomes
of meetings in Ankara and Moscow. Coordinating efforts to provide aid to
civilians in the region was also discussed.
The two
sides exchanged views on the future of the Syrian crisis and possible political
solutions to the matter that fall in line with the Geneva Convention and the UN
Security Council.
Both sides
also expressed support for the people of Syria and the importance of a
permanent cease fire in the region. They called upon the international
community to assume responsibility for providing humanitarian aid to the
region.
