Qatari insurer opens new branch, kiosks

The Qatar Insurance Company, the nation’s leading insurer, recently opened a new retail outlet at Abu Hamour and kiosks at Landmark and Villaggio malls under its QIC Insured retail arm.

Salem Al Mannai, deputy group president and CEO of QIC in the MENA region, led a ceremony kicking off the openings, saying that that QIC has long enjoyed a relationship with the Abu Hamour vicinity and noted that the new venues are designed to make customers feel especially welcome as they encounter updated technology to make their claim filings more efficient.

"The facilities … have been strategically designed for two main reasons: first, to add convenience and enhance connectivity with our customers, and second, to elevate customer experience, satisfaction and loyalty," he said.

QIC handles car, home, boat, personal accident benefit and travel insurance.

"We'’re delighted to be the first in the region to launch fully equipped state-of-the-art functionality areas — the self-service kiosks for managing claims,” Al Mannai said. "[Customers] can now file and track motor claims with convenience and ease without having to wait in queues at the counters.”

QID Insured also operates a kiosk at Lulu Gharaffa in Doha and a branch at Al Khor, 30 miles north of Doha.
