Zain, Kuwait's
leading telecommunications company, recently cemented its partnership
with the first farmers market in the country, Qout Market.
The market held its second gathering earlier this month at the
Circle of Peace - Shaheed Park, and brought in a crowd of
approximately 15,000 buyers, like last year. Local farmers and artisans come to share
ideas, market their produce and homemade items, and offer support to
one another.
Zain considers its market support part of its
Corporate Sustainability and Social Responsibility program, and says
its goal is to help youth from in the region recognize and
develop their talents. The company hopes to encourage young
entrepreneurs to lead the way in new product development and
strengthen the creativity of young adults.
Zain also sponsored its
own booth at the market and welcomed passersby to take part in
several contests with prizes, as well as sponsoring a contest through social media.
