The meeting on
United Nations Security Council (UNSC) Reform recently concluded in
Doha, with the Qatari foreign minister reiterating his country's
commitment to solving common issues faced by the UN and its member
states.
"In the State of Qatar, we feel great
satisfaction at the conclusion of these discussions, as we have seen
candor and clarity in the positions and views of all groups in the
discussions," Saad Al Muraikhi said.
The meeting
brought together diplomats, scholars and experts from 30 countries to
discuss ways to tackle common challenges and deliver a safer future
for mankind.
Al Muraikhi commended the eagerness of those
in attendance to reach solutions that advance intergovernmental
negotiations on Security Council Reform. He said the eagerness is an indicator of pride and optimism for the world.
He also said the UNSC needs to continue to evolve to address global
challenges.
