The American University at Sharjah recently hosted an award presentation aimed at bringing more forward-thinking students to careers in media.
The Abde3 Award, an initiative of the
Sharjah Media Corporation, gives students the opportunity to highlight visual reporting and help improve its production
methods, both technically and artistically.
"The Abde3 Award is an excellent opportunity for mass communication and visual media students to showcase their passion for video reporting," Muhammad Ayish, head of the university's Mass Communications department, said. "The Sharjah Media Corporation is to be appreciated for launching this outstanding initiative that will motivate students to unlock their potential for creativity in motion visual arts."
To qualify for the award, students at Sharjah universities and institutes must produce a three-minute visual report with an innovative topic, accurate and effective text, and suitable photos and scenes.
The work of Abde3 Award winners will be broadcast on Sharjah Media Corporation TV channels.
