Abu
Dhabi’s renewable energy company recently signed a cooperative agreement with
Qatar Electricity & Water Company (QEWC) and Nebras Power to unite on sustainable
energy projects. The deal was struck during Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week.
“Our
cooperation agreement with QEWC and Nebras Power provides a valuable
opportunity for collaboration and knowledge sharing among regional partners who
share common goals,” Mohamed Jameel al-Ramahi, CEO of Masdar, said.
Al-Ramahi signed the pact with Fahd bin Hamad al-Mohannadi, QEWC general
manager and managing director, and Khalid Mohammed Jolo, CEO of Nebras Power.
“This
agreement will make an important contribution to the evolution of Qatar
Electricity and Water Company, which seeks to be a leader in the field of power
generation and water desalination in the Middle East,” Al-Mohannadi said.
The three companies will work together to create commercially viable
renewable energy products in the Middle East and internationally. They also will collaborate on research and development, as well as education
and awareness related to sustainability.
“We hope
this agreement will further the aim of Nebras Power to invest in regional and
international utilities markets,” Jolo said. “It will enable all three parties
to exchange knowledge and experience and help them to expand their activities
in renewable energy and sustainability.”
