The president of Costa Rica recently asked members of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce to visit his Caribbean country to get a closer look at investment opportunities.

Luis Guillermo Solis and his Costa Rican delegation met with Mohammed Thani Murshid Al-Rumaithi, chairman of the Federation of the UAE Chamber of Commerce and Industry and chairman of the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Solís said Costa Rican businesses have a strong desire to build economic and investment partnerships with their counterparts in the Emirates. He said that such partnerships would offer benefits to both nations.

Al-Rumaithi agreed that now is a good time to expand economic and investment cooperation between the countries and their business leaders. He also said the chamber will provide support to Costa Rican companies that want to operate in Abu Dhabi. It is especially important to cooperate in the areas of industry, renewable energy and other sectors where there is a high degree of mutual interest, he said. His hope is to encourage investments in Abu Dhabi markets and the whole of the UAE.
