The
International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Qatar recently hosted a seminar
titled “Drafting Arbitration Clauses,” presented by commercial law firm
Squire Patton Boggs.
The
free seminar, led by Tarek Saad and Kevin Oles of Squire Patton Boggs,
focused on the importance of arbitration clauses in commercial
contracts and how to draft them. The information session was part
of an ongoing series put on by ICC Qatar’s Commission on Arbitration and
ADR and ICC
Qatar’s monthly arbitration series that is meant to boost investments
and trade between Qatar and international
businesses.
“This presentation, as with other topics to be covered
in the monthly series, is intended to share international best practice in
arbitration and also to suggest clear, practical steps to take, and strategies
to pursue, to avoid disputes in the first instance,”
Charbel Maakaron, managing Pprtner of Squire Patton Boggs.
The monthly arbitration seminars will continue until May.
