Ajman
University recently gathered a group of trainees for a two-day course aimed at developing test-writing abilities.
The Ajman College of Law and the Human Resource Office created “Writing Test Questions and Measuring
the Targeted Learning Outcomes" with the goal of building effective teaching strategies and developing reliable and valid tests.
Randa
Soliman, the head of Teaching English as a Foreign Language Department at the
College of Education and Basic Sciences, prepared and oversaw the training
session.
Trainees participated in debates over viewpoints on assessment
and evaluation, and asked questions about teaching,
assessment and evaluation. Trainers stressed the need
for learners to seek self-development, self-assessment and lifelong learning.
At the end
of the session, trainees used technology – an interactive
application – to design a test that applied the criteria of learning outcomes
and assessments that they had been shown.
