Young entrepreneurs have a new and powerful ally in Qatar thanks to a three-way initiative launched recently by the Qatar Chamber, Qatar University and Qatar Development Bank.
“Ma’an” (“Together”), spearheaded financially and logistically by Qatar Chamber, will
promote a knowledge-based economy by investing in the ideas of the
younger generation. The program is meant to raise and promote an entire generation of entrepreneurs looking to make a difference and support
sustainable development in Qatar.
The three
founding organizations held a conference to discuss ways to make the program work best. Abdul Rahman Abdul
Jaleel AbdulGhani, a member of the Qatar Chamber and now chairman of the Ma'an board, said the program
reflects the eagerness of those involved to work toward sustainable
development via entrepreneurship.
Ma’an is to provide training, technical support and financial backing to the work and studies of skilled Qatari students at Qatar University and other universities. It also will support marketing initiatives and build ties between the private sector and Qatar University.
