The Information Systems Department (ISD) of Qatar's Ministry of Interior is developing 13 electronics projects, including a security permit-issuing device.
The department has a strong history of success, including the completion of 20 similar electronics projects in 2016.
Abdulaziz al-Ruwaili, assistant
director of ISD, said the new permit system will allow security permits to be issued on site
at the entry points of vital facilities, including Hamad International
Airport and Hamad Port.
The new projects also include a system for streamlining the work of the Search and Follow Up Department and an upgrade of the organizational registry system to meet the latest requirements of the General Directorates of Passports.
ISD currently provides the public with more than 200 e-services, including approximately 100 that were added last year.
