Saudi
Electric Company (SEC) recently announced that it has improved its safety and
vocational health record at all its sectors and work sites for the third
straight year. The company reduced work accidents by 16% during 2016 compared
2015.
The number
of workplace accidents has gone down despite the number of workplace employees
and workplace areas rising. SEC achieved vast expansion in its facilities
including distribution networks, transmission plants and production plants to
meet the rapid growth in all regions of Saudi Arabia.
Senior Vice
President for General Services Ayesh Al-Shammari stated that the company has
achieved success in this arena by applying the international safety program in
the field of security, safety and vocational health management. The company
launched this program in 2014 and it has transformed the way SEC operates.
Of note are
two awards the company has won that showcase these efforts. SEC was crowned in
2016 with the Best Social Responsibility Award at the Customer Experience
Management Summit in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The company also earned
the Customer Experience Management Summit award 2016 in Dubai for its
electricity security and safety system.
