Qataris review Gaza Strip hospital, residential area

A group of high-level Qatari officials recently inspected projects currently underway in the Gaza Strip, including a prosthetics hospital and a residential area, the Qatar Ministry of Finance has reported.

The projects are funded by the $407 million Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani grant.

The inspection was conducted by Yousuf Al Gareez, adviser to the chairman of the Qatari Committee for the Reconstruction of Gaza; a delegation from Qatar Fund for Development (QFD), headed by its general manager, Khalifa Al Kuwari; a medical specialist delegation; and other Qatari officials.

The panel's chairman, Mohammed Al Emadi, arrived in Gaza in time to witness the handing over of Apartments Phase II of Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani city in Khan Younis, and take part in celebrations in other areas where apartments have been built.

Al Emadi also visited the Gaza Strip, leading a group of visiting doctors who were performing cochlear implants for Gaza Strip patients.
