More than 600 doctors from 42
countries across the globe recently met in Dubai for the International Trauma Congress at the Grand Hyatt Dubai Hotel.
The
congress was put together by Rashid Hospital, the largest hospital in the United Arab Emirates, and its trauma department. The goal of the event was to discuss advances in
trauma surgery techniques.
During the
event, Humaid Al Qatami, chairman of the board and director general of the
Dubai Health Authority (DHA), delivered an address. He spoke about how the
authority is taking innovative steps forward in trauma care under the
directives of Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president and prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, with the support of Shaikh Hamdan Bin
Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, crown prince of Dubai, and Shaikh Hamdan Bin
Rashid Al Maktoum, deputy ruler of Dubai, finance minister and president of
the DHA.
Bilal El
Yafawi, a consultant at Rashid Hospital, also spoke at the event.
“For
surgeons and researchers, this is an ideal opportunity to interact with your
peers and our faculty of distinguished regional and international speakers,
share experience and expertise and showcase outstanding projects and interesting
cases,” Yafawi said.
