The Dubai
Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently finalized its plans
for its upcoming trade mission to India.
Leading the
delegation will be Majid Saif Al Ghurair, the Chamber's chairman. He will be
joined by Hamad Buamim, president and CEO of the Chamber; Essa Al Ghurair, chairman of Al Ghurair Resources; Abdullah Al Sharafi, president of Gerab National
Enterprises; Ismail Akil Abbasi, chairman of Abbasi Group; Adel Al Ali, executive director of development, ports customs and Free Zone Corporation hotels; Kulwant Singh Thiara, president of the Indian Business and Professional
Council; and Ahmad Belyoha, chairman of the Emirates Macaroni Factory.
Buamim
said the mission is part of a strategy to
expand internationally. The Chamber seeks to explore promising markets for
trade and investment. Buamim believes India, specifically Mumbai and Ahmedabad,
offers growing sectors that include telecommunications, hospitality, finance,
construction and pharmaceuticals.
“This trade
mission will help us promote the 4th Global Business Forum on
Africa, which we are planning to host in Dubai later this year,” Buamim said. “The
high-profile event will serve as an important platform where Indian companies
can learn more about growth opportunities in Africa and explore ways they can
access the continent by leveraging Dubai’s status as a strategic hub.”
