Qatar Airways to lease airplanes from LATAM

Qatar Airways recently reached an agreement to lease up to four of South American airline LATAM's A350 aircrafts on 6- to 12-month terms in order to meet operational plans for the year and meet growing demand.
 
“In order to meet growing demand for our services, Qatar Airways has entered into an agreement with LATAM Airlines Group to secure up to four A350 aircraft for up to one year,” Akbar Al Baker, chief executive of Qatar Airways Group, said. “The A350, for which Qatar Airways was the global launch customer, is the most technologically advanced aircraft in the skies today. Thanks to our strong partnership with LATAM, we are able to meet increasing customer demand in the short term, in an innovative way.”
 
The aircrafts come with 30 business class seats and 309 economy class seats. The lease agreement allows Qatar Airways to meet growing demand.
 
This is the second agreement in the past year between the two companies. In December, they completed a business agreement in which Qatar Airways would take on a 10 percent stake in LATAM.
