The Qatar Chamber of Commerce recently hosted a workshop in conjunction with the United States Embassy in Doha that focused on the challenges of establishing a business.
Ibtihaj Al Ahmadani, a member of the Qatar chamber, spoke at the event about how the chamber is working to grow the private sector’s role in the Qatar economy, a chamber release said. She said the chamber is seeking to encourage and empower entrepreneurs to start new businesses.
U.S. Ambassador to Qatar Dana Shell Smith also spoke, saying that relations between the Qatar chamber and its American counterpart focus on establishing joint projects and encouraging growth. The new administration in the United States is keen on enhancing political ties with Qatar, and this includes stimulating economic growth, Smith said in the release.
Attending the event were businesswomen from both the Qatar chamber and the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. Those in attendance focused on identifying ways to overcome challenges facing setting up a business.
