Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met recently with Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn at the National Palace in Ethiopia's capital, Addis Ababa.
Desalegn opened the meeting by welcoming Tamim and the accompanying delegation to Ethiopia. Desalegn thanked Tamim for choosing Ethiopia as the first stop in his visit to Africa. He spoke of the importance of bilateral relations between the two countries.
The emir said he was glad to visit Ethiopia and meet the prime minister and said he hopes the two countries can develop enhanced bilateral ties.
During the session, the two political leaders reviewed mutual relations between the two countries and examined methods to enhance these relationship in various sectors, chiefly infrastructure, education and economy.
A number of Ethiopian ministers and senior officials attended the session along with members of the official delegation from Qatar.
