Council of Saudi Chambers issued the following announcement on March 12.
Secretary General of the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) Dr. Saud Al Meshari received in his office His Excellency the Ambassador of Austria to Saudi Arabia, Gregor W. Koessler, where the two discussed ways to foster economic relations between the two countries. Austrian Commercial Counsellor for Saudi Arabia, Dr. Kurt Altmann, attended the meeting.
Dr. Al Meshari noted the distinguished relations between Saudi Arabia and Austria, emphasizing the significance of fostering these relations, economically, and adding that the two countries possess robust economies and offer great opportunities to utilize. He pointed to the strength points of Austria as an attractive destination for Saudi tourists and investors as an example.
For his part, the Austrian Ambassador conveyed Austria’s interest in fostering economic relations with Saudi Arabia, given the opportunities accompanying the Saudi Vision 2030. He additionally conveyed the keenness of Austrian investors to explore joint ventures with their Saudi counterpart, and attract Saudi investments to value-added projects in Austria. Mr. Koessler encouraged Saudi investors to visit Austria to review these opportunities firsthand, and get an idea of the incentives offered to foreign investors.
The meeting discussed preparations for an upcoming Austrian delegation trip to the Kingdom in April, led by President of the Vienna Chamber of Commerce, Eng. Walter Ruck. In addition to stressing maintaining bilateral meetings between the Saudi and Austrian business communities via the Saudi-Austrian Business Council to foster economic and investment relations between the two countries.
