Ajman University of Science and Technology issued the following announcement on March 22.
On the directives of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ajman University a delegation visited the Sultanate of Oman. It was headed by Dr. Karim Seghir, AU Chancellor, the members included Dr. Abdul Haq Al Nuaimi, Vice-Chancellor for Advancement and Communication and Dr. Khalid As Saleh, Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
During their visit the delegation met with Omani Alumni of AU who are proudly serving their community in both public and private sector. AU Alumni branch in Oman had invited all the graduates to meet with the management. Dr. Karim briefed them about the latest developments of their alma mater and the new programs that have been introduced along with the expansion in facilities.
The delegation visited the Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat, where they were received by Dr. Rahma Bint Ibrahim, Vice-Chancellor for Graduates Studies and Scientific Research. During the meeting the two sides discussed avenues of mutual growth and development of the student body. AU delegation were briefed about the programs and colleges at the University, they then toured the Sultan Qaboos Cultural Center and Center for Omani Studies along with other prominent units at the campus.
AU delegation visited the Oman News Agency a governing body for press and publications. They met Mr. Saif Al Mahrouqi, Editor of Al Watan Newspaper, Mr. Abdullah Al Saila, Editor of Oman Observer, the English daily of Oman along with other press representatives.
They discussed the mechanism of press and media on a national level and the rise of electronic media and social networking sites as a source of news and views.
