Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce issued the following announcement on March 25.

Abu Dhabi Chamber Participates in the Earth Hour Campaign

The Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry has participated, along with public and private establishments in Abu Dhabi, in the Earth Hour Campaign by switching off the lights of its main branch and all its branches across the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.

His Excellency Mohammed Helal Al Muheiri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Chamber, emphasized on the support of the ADCCI towards the “Earth Hour” campaign which comes from its principles in rationalizing and preserving natural resources.

HE the Director General also said the participation of the Chamber in the Earth Hour aims at supporting the environmental and social activities and the efforts of EWS in encouraging the public and private establishments in Abu Dhabi to adopt this campaign to preserve the environment and combat global warming through lesser usage of electricity and completely abandoning the usage of electricity for one hour. “This is just a figurative expression of the support of the Chamber and other bodies towards this international approach to combat global warming,” HE Al Muheiri said.

The Abu Dhabi Chamber has had urged all the operating companies and establishments in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, each according to their capabilities and work conditions, to support this initiative towards limiting the use of energy and raise the level of environmental awareness, emphasizing that its participation in this campaign comes as a part of its commitments and social responsibility towards the society and the surrounding environment.

The Chamber also urged all its members, contractors and customers to take part in this world initiative that millions of people around the world will witness positive impacts for this hour over the lifestyle of man.
