Council of Saudi Chambers issued the following announcement on March 21.
Chairperson of the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) Eng. Ahmed Al Rajhi received in his office HE the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Saudi Arabia, Shahin Abdullayev, where the two discussed ways to foster trade and investment relations between the two countries. CSC Secretary General Dr. Saud Al Meshari partook in the meeting.
Eng. Al Rajhi noted the distinguished Saudi-Azerbaijani relations and emphasized fostering them, especially on the economic and investment fronts, expressing CSC’s readiness to assist in any capacity in this regard. He conveyed the Saudi business community’s interest in exploring investment opportunities in Azerbaijan, adding that both, the Saudi and Azerbaijani business communities have a significant role to play in elevating bilateral relations to their highest level.
For his part, Mr. Abdullayev stated Azerbaijan’s keenness on enhancing trade relations with the Kingdom, highlighting the various promising opportunities in Azerbaijan, namely, in oil, gas, and agriculture. He added that the quality of Azerbaijan’s agricultural products enabled them to access international markets, including Russia and Europe. He additionally shed light on opportunities in real estate, hospitality, and tourism, noting that around 35 thousand Saudi tourists visited Azerbaijan in the last year. In addition to opportunities in Azerbaijan’s industrial zones, which offer various incentives, including tax exemptions. He hoped to see more access of Azerbaijani products to the GCC market, and Saudi Arabia in particular, as the largest market in the region.
The meeting touched on organizing special meetings between Saudi and Azerbaijani business people to explore opportunities in the aforementioned sectors.
