Dubai Chamber of Commerce & Industry issued the following announcement on April 2.

–H.E. Buamim sheds light on Chamber’s international expansion strategy and reveals plans and activities for 2018

Dubai, UAE: The Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry recently hosted ambassadors and members of the diplomatic corps in the UAE at its annual Diplomatic Circle Dinner where delegates were briefed on the Chamber’s recent highlights and achievements, as well as strategic plans and activities for 2018.

The exclusive gathering, held at Dubai’s Bulgari Hotel, was attended by over 120 delegates, including ambassadors, consul generals and senior UAE officials. The dinner featured speeches and presentations from H.E. Majid Saif Al Ghurair, Chairman of Dubai Chamber; H.E. Hamad Buamim, President and CEO of Dubai Chamber; and H.E. Dr. Aisha Bin Bishr, Director General of Smart Dubai Office.

In his welcome remarks, H.E. Al Ghurair thanked members of the diplomatic corps for their valuable support and noted that the Chamber’s achievements would not have been possible without their cooperation and assistance.

“Our diplomatic partners have made an important contribution towards building mutual understanding, facilitating knowledge sharing and dialogue and identifying opportunities that offer the most potential to businesses in Dubai,” said H.E. Al Ghurair.

H.E. Al Ghurair noted that 2017 was a pivotal one for the Chamber, marked by strong membership growth, international expansion and several important milestones as the organisation continued to promote Dubai as a global trade and investment hub. He revealed the Chamber’s plans to explore business potential in new markets in 2018, with the aim of providing its 217,000 members with access to new trade and investment opportunities.

For his part, H.E. Buamim gave a detailed overview of Dubai Chamber’s recent activities, strategic plans and major upcoming events, and elaborated on its international expansion strategy for 2018. He revealed that the Chamber recently opened two new representative offices in India and Panama, adding that an additional office would open in Argentina, bringing the total number of offices to 11 by the end of this year.

H.E. Buamim explained how the Chamber is supporting key objectives outlined under the Dubai Plan 2021 and other forward-looking strategies that aim to position Dubai as a global innovation hub.

Dubai Chamber’s President and CEO highlighted Dubai’s economic prospects and shed light on the Chamber’s proactive approach to serving its members and the fast-growing business community in Dubai.
