American University of Sharjah issued the following announcement on April 10.

Two case studies authored by students from the School of Business Administration (SBA) at American University of Sharjah (AUS) have been published by the Pearl Initiative and are available as part of the initiative’s Resource Center. The publications were undertaken as part of an engagement program between students and business leaders jointly conducted by AUS and the Pearl Initiative.

Focusing on a presentation delivered by Patrick Allman-Ward, CEO of Dana Gas, Rhea Das’s study entitled “Collaboration and Partnership Initiatives at Dana Gas” reviewed the positive impact the company’s collaborations, initiatives and engagements had with the youth, government, civil society and businesses in the areas in which they operated. “Setting Targets for Sustainable and Responsible Growth at Pepsico” was the title of Aakhriti Jha’s study. It focused on a session conducted by PepsiCo on its sustainability initiatives which have been developed in-line with the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Both publications are part of Pearl’s resources on best practices of compliance and sustainability in the Gulf and can be accessed here.

Speaking on the students’ achievement, Dr. John Katsos, Associate Professor of Management and Head of Sustainability at AUS, said:

"AUS students continue to excel in practice-oriented roles. The Pearl Initiative provided yet another opportunity for our students to shine and they did so yet again."

The Pearl Initiative was developed in collaboration with the United Nations Office for Partnerships and is a private sector-led, not-for-profit organization set up to foster a corporate culture of transparency, accountability, good governance and best business practices in the Arab world.
