Council of Saudi Chambers issued the following announcement on May 22.
Secretary General of the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) Dr. Saud Al Meshari received in his office His Excellency the Ambassador of South Africa to Saudi Arabia, Cusbert Timba Habushi, where the two discussed fostering economic relations between the two countries.
Dr. Al Meshari noted during the meeting the distinguished relations between the two countries, especially given the capabilities of South Africa and its vast opportunities in various areas, which makes it an attractive destination for Saudi investors. He encouraged more cooperation and partnerships between the two countries’ business communities, and exploring opportunities that accompany the launching of the Saudi Vision 2030. Al Meshari expressed CSC’s readiness to assist in any capacity in this regard.
For his part, Mr. Habushi conveyed the South African government’s interest in fostering trade and investment relations with Saudi Arabia, and enhancing communication between their respective private sectors’ institutional agencies. The South African Ambassador shed light on the natural resources and investment opportunities in the country, particularly in mining and tourism, adding that his visit to CSC aims to find new channels for cooperation between the two countries.
The meeting stressed the significance of delegation exchanges to fostering bilateral trade between the two countries, and exploring their respective investment opportunities.
