Council of Saudi Chambers issued the following announcement on Dec. 12.
The World Chambers Federation (WCF) appointed Mr. Yassin Al Suroor, Chairperson of the International Chamber of Commerce at the Council of Saudi Chambers, as its Vice Chairperson and sole representative, globally, at the G20. Al Suroor will represent the SMEs sector and its affairs at the G20, effective as of January 2019, for a three-year term.
Al Suroor described the appointment as a reflection of the leading and crucial role Saudi Arabia plays in world economy, and specifically, in fostering the efforts of the G20 to enhance dialogue between leading industrial countries to ensure the growth and stability of world economy.
The newly appointed VC revealed that his plans include working towards creating a platform between global chambers to maintain dialogue and find innovative tools and solutions to revitalize SMEs’ contribution to sustainable development, particularly in developing countries.
It is worth noting that Al Suroor won two international seats, in one year, at influential economic organizations, which is a success for the Saudi business community in all, and Saudi chambers of commerce in particular.
The World Chambers Federation serves as an umbrella to over 12.000 chambers worldwide.
