Council of Saudi Chambers issued the following announcement on Jan. 23.
The second Saudi-UAE Economic Forum, organized by the Council of Saudi Chambers in cooperation with the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, will be hosted by the capital Riyadh in late January, with the participation of many ministers, officials and business owners of both countries.
On this occasion, the Chairman of the Council of Saudi Chambers, Dr. Sami bin Abdullah Al-Obaidi, praised the distinguished bilateral relations between the Kingdom and the UAE and the continuous development. He stressed that the holding of this forum reflects the interest enjoyed by the economic relations of the two countries' leaders, As well as to strengthen their economic cooperation, which will assume more responsibilities on the public and private sectors of the two countries to invest this strong political will and work to develop trade and investment partnerships that benefit the peoples of the two countries.
Al-Obaidi said that the forum in general aims to enhance trade and economic cooperation between the two brotherly countries, in addition to strengthening ties, opening new investment channels that promote diversifying sources of income, attracting value added investments to the economy and increasing the volume of non-oil exports, And discussed the ways to increase joint and mutual investments between the two countries, and discuss the possibility of participation and utilization of the business sectors of Saudi Arabia and the UAE of those opportunities to establish partnership projects, pointing out that the Forum is a good platform to meet the ideas and theses between the private sector in the Kingdom and the UAE, The investment opportunities available in both countries, and encourage businessmen from both sides to establish joint projects serving the economy of the two brotherly countries. It is expected that the forum will produce positive results and recommendations for investors in both countries, in line with the steady development of relations between the two countries, not only on the political and diplomatic side, but also on the level of economic and investment relations which are also strong, especially as the Kingdom is the largest trading partner of the UAE. At the level of the Gulf and the Arab region as a whole.
For his part, President of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry in the United Arab Emirates, Mr. Mohammed Thani Al-Rumaithi praised the development and excellence of the UAE-Saudi relations, stressing that they are based on solid foundations and strong political will of the leaders of the two countries make them able to develop and progress forward continuously, The second session of the Forum underscores the depth of relations and historical ties between the two countries. It also reflects the strength and strength of these relations between the leaders and peoples of the two brotherly countries and the highly developed level reached by their mutual cooperation in all fields and at the highest levels. He called on the Saudi and UAE business sectors to take advantage of this stimulating atmosphere and accompanying facilities and stimulating and encouraging decisions to work together to develop trade and investment relations to achieve a boom in the volume of trade exchanges between the two brotherly countries during the coming period.
