Abu Dhabi council reviews standards for infrastructure policy

The Abu Dhabi Quality and Conformity Council (QCC) recently held a regular steering committee meeting to discuss development projects and the Infrastructure Standard Guidelines (ISGL).

The meeting, which is a significant milestone for harmonizing and integrating the specifications and standards for infrastructure development projects throughout Abu Dhabi, included crucial infrastructure leaders from Abu Dhabi.

The QCC plans to apply a harmonized guideline to have a united reference for all infrastructure sectors within Abu Dhabi. This process began in 2011 under the guidance of the General Secretariat of Abu Dhabi Executive Council (GSEC). Now, the project is comprised of 10 working committee members including stakeholders and key leaders from a range of infrastructure sectors.

“As part of our mandate to promote quality infrastructure in Abu Dhabi, QCC published ISGL to serve as a unified reference,” Mohammed Helal Al Balooshi, marketing and communications acting director at Abu Dhabi QCC, said. “Developed in collaboration with key stakeholders in the infrastructure sector, these standards aim to prevent duplication between the concerned authorities.

“As a key enabler of quality infrastructure in Abu Dhabi, QCC plays an important role in supporting its stakeholders to adopt best-in-class standards in their relevant industries and join ranks in achieving the objectives of the Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030,” Al Balooshi said.
