The director general HE Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi of the Emirates Center for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR) recently visited the Gulf Pharmaceutical Industries in Julphar, where he said the pharmaceutical industry is key to adding more diversity to the UAE economy.
HE Sheikh Faisal bin Saqr Al-Qasimi, the chairman of Julphar, as well as several other senior officials with the company received Al-Suwaidi.
As part of the visit, they all watched a documentary about the plant and the variety of medicines it manufactures from abroad and the UAE.
HE Sheikh Faisal bin Saqr Al-Qasimi emphasized that the ECSSR has a crucial responsibility in providing the Gulf, UAE and Arab societies in creating sustainable development within the country. He also said that the ECSSR can use its expertise and cadre to develop the UAE’s pharmaceutical industry. He suggested that the ECSSR use public opinion polls to detect major trends in the area. The company also can study the industry’s expansion throughout the region to improve its business and its product supply.
Al-Suwaidi highlighted that Julphar is the prime example of a homegrown company that has become successful. Julphar is a testimony to the UAE’s technical, human and scientific resources, which are fully capable of operating advanced industries equipment.
