Oman Insurance Co. has launched AssistPal, a roadside assistance mobile app for its motor insurance customers.
The app is the first of its kind in the United Arab Emirates and aims to make assistance requests faster and more convenient. The free AssistPal app gives the company's customers an added level of safety and convenience on the road as it will hail roadside assistance around the clock to help motorists with flat tire replacement, battery jump starts, towing and more.
Oman Insurance has contracted ITACO to provide assistance services for their customers.
An added bonus of the mobile app is the GPS locator built in to the system, making it easier for roadside assistance technicians to find customers in need of help.
“Drivers find it quite hard to explain where a car broke down using landmarks or street names that don't always exist,” Haris Mylonas, Oman Insurance’s executive vice president, said. “AssistPal removes this awkward moment by sending the vehicle's exact location via the phone's GPS feature. Once help is on the way, drivers can track the real time location of the assigned service provider on a map.”
When drivers need to speak with an actual person for help, AssistPal can also connect them to a multilingual call center to coordinate roadside help.
