IWC Schaffhausen, a Swiss luxury watch manufacturer, recently announced the opening of its first boutique in Qatar, in collaboration with Al Majed Jewellery, its authorized retailer in the Gulf nation.
The high-end timepiece manufacturer’s new boutique is opening in Doha's upscale Lagoona Mall. The new branch means IWC Schaffhausen now has nine boutiques across the Middle East.
Karoline Huber, IWC Schaffhausen’s brand director for the Middle East and India, said the opening of the company’s first boutique in Qatar underscores the importance of the Gulf Cooperation Council market to the brand.
“We're thrilled to finally be able to offer our customers in Qatar a destination where they can choose from an excellent range of IWC timepieces and experience our brand's vivid universe," Huber said.
Among the watches on display at the new store are examples from the brand's Portugieser collection, a line that recently celebrated its 75th anniversary. Celebrating the anniversary and building on the watch line’s rich heritage, the new Portugieser collection comes with a host of new features including technological and design modifications.
The new Portugieser is fitted with newly designed calibers while maintaining a sense of tradition, and the company expects the watches to be a big draw for Qatari watch enthusiasts visiting the store.
