Huawei set to transform Ooredoo's IT and network operations

Ooredoo Kuwait has awarded the Chinese telecommunications hardware and service provider Huawei with a “Future Mode of Operation (FMO)” IT and Network Managed Services contract.

The terms of the contract will see Huawei provide managed IT and network operations, network performance management and service quality improvement for Ooredoo Kuwait. Huawei will also provide an ICT Converged Operation solution to manage Ooredoo’s IT and telecom equipment through converged operation processes, resources and tools.

The goal for Ooredoo Kuwait is to achieve a digital transformation that will translate into operational excellence and an overall improved customer experience.

“The FMO project is significant for Ooredoo,” Prabjit Singh Panesar, Ooredoo Kuwait Deputy CTO, said. “It will accelerate the speed of our response to the market, improve network performance and quality of service, and enhance the end-user experience. We are pleased to be working with Huawei as their products and service capabilities in the IT and telecommunications fields will help us achieve ICT transformation.”

Howard Liang, Huawei’s president of global tech services, said providing that ICT infrastructure transformation service has been one of the company’s key strategic investments.

“It is an honor for Huawei to be selected as the FMO project supplier for Ooredoo Kuwait,” Liang said. “The cooperation between Ooredoo and Huawei now extends from purely CT to encompass IT, and we are committed to delivering the ICT converged operation Ooredoo Kuwait needs to achieve operational excellence and digital transformation.”
