Linksys, the global networking solutions company specializing in Wi-Fi technology, recently pledged its support for Intel’s Internet of Things (IoT) lab in Dubai’s Silicon Oasis.

Built in partnership with the Dubai Silicon Oasis Authority, the IoT Lab is a part of Dubai Government’s Smart City Initiative, which will be an integral part of the Smart Cities Center of Excellence.

At the recent launch event of the Ignition Lab, which was held at Dubai Technology Entrepreneurship Centre (DTEC), Linksys’ director for the Middle East Amanulla Khan said the brand is built on innovation, which makes the company proud to be a part of the IoT project.

“The lab will serve as a center of motivation to innovate and create, and will become a playground for young technology visionaries and innovators,” Khan said. “Our networking solutions for the [small and medium business] portfolio is showcased in the infrastructural development of the lab.”

The Linksys brand has pioneered wireless connectivity since its inception in 1988 with its  innovation and engineering strategies, technology, design and customer service. That puts Linksys in a good position to help facilitate the IoT lab.

“Facilitation is a great stimulant, and this lab will help all things IoT under one roof to stimulate innovolution; and the lab will serve as a bridge between ideas and commercialization of those ideas.” Khan said.
