Oman Air has received its first of six Boeing 787 Dreamliners for use on routes to Europe and Saudi Arabia.
The Boeing 787 Dreamliner was released in 2011 to offer improved efficiency and has been used on more than 50 new nonstop routes around the world. Oman Air has also contracted with Boeing to support the introduction of 787 Dreamliners into its fleet in a move that will ensure the optimization of operational time and cost.
"We are delighted to receive our first Dreamliner which combined with Oman Air's award-winning service will provide an excellent travel experience for our customers,"
Oman Air Chief Executive Officer Paul Gregorowitsch said. "Our decision to invest in this game-changing airplane underlines our confidence in the 787 and the value it will add in terms of reliability, operational efficiency and comfort."
Boeing has eight 787 customers in the Middle East with a total of 175 Dreamliners ordered and 140 in backlog.
