Etisalat, the UAE-based telecommunication services company, partnered with the Fujairah Free Zone Oct. 18 in the wake of Dubai’s GITEX Technology Week.
The Emirates Telecommunications Corporation, which operates under the Etisalat brand name, will work to provide improved telecommunication and ICT services to companies operating in Fujairah Free Zone Authority.
The agreement was signed by Etisalat's Chief Business Officer Salvador Anglada and
Fujairah Free Zone Authority CEO Sharief Habib Al Awadhi.
The new strategic partnership is in step with the UAE's efforts to become one of the world’s leading business hubs. Leaders from Etisalat and the Fujairah Free Zone hope the deal will make it easier for businesses to set up shop in the United Arab Emirates.
"Small and medium businesses– especially startups– fuel the economic engine of a nation,” Anglada said. “Etisalat is the ideal partner of choice for this segment in the UAE and we are committed to making the telecom and ICT connectivity a seamless experience for our business customers.”
Etisalat is particularly excited to work with the Fujairah Free Zone since the deal will allow it to specifically cater to small businesses and startups.
“It lets us target this segment better and help it grow by making our technology work for these businesses," Anglada said.
