Reserved opens first store in Saudi Arabia

Popular clothing brand Reserved launched the company’s first Saudi Arabian retail store in Dhahran Oct. 28.

The Kingdom’s strong purchasing power coupled with a growing population and market for fashion makes Saudi Arabia’s off-the-rack clothes sector the largest in the GCC region; Saudi Arabia’s stable economic condition gives it the ability to boost the industry with government stimulus in the form of support for buying commodities and tax exemptions for merchants.

Saudi Arabia's economy makes the Kingdom the perfect place to launch the latest expansion of the Reserved brand, which is the company’s fourth outlet to open in the Middle East. Reserved also plans to open more stores in Saudi Arabia to take advantage of the growing demand for fashion there.

Amal Daher, the regional brand manager for Reserved, said Saudi Arabia is an exciting market to expand into not just because of the growing market, but also because a large percentage of that market growth is coming from the Gulf nation’s younger generation of shoppers.

“The youth generation which constitutes 65 percent of the population,” Daher said. “Added to this, many Saudi women choose to shop at retail outlets that offer them trendy clothing at the best value, which fully applies to the vast range of Reserved products.”
