Oman Sail employees recently graduated from the Institute of Leadership and Management’s Fast Track Leadership Program.
Oman Sail is a non-profit organization established in 2008 to develop and modernize Oman’s historic sailing culture. The organization offers numerous sailing courses and training programs as well as organizing and promoting major international sailing events in the Sultanate.
The organization sent 11 up-and-coming leaders to train in the leadership development program, which was delivered by the Modern Gulf Institute. The Oman Sail team built up their leadership capabilities with the aim of becoming effective, efficient managers.
The trainees took 14 modules designed to give them the skills necessary for careers as the future leaders of Oman Sail. Module themes ranged from leadership skills and performance management to problem solving and communication.
Oman Sail employees also learned better ways to delegate, manage their time and engage the teams they lead.
“I found the whole course really interesting and engaging,” Aymen Al-Mairki, Oman Sail’s procurement officer and a recent graduate of the course, said. “The amount of help and the knowledge I gained from this course has given me confidence, which will help me going forward in my career.”
